Elite Team

The Elite Team is a selection of riders who compete in national, as well as local and regional events. We are focused on competing at a high level, but still spend time promoting competitive cycling and racing in Virginia.

Amanda Eichert, category 2 road

I am living in Virginia Beach, VA. I spent years horseback riding and running cross country, but transitioned into cycling after a running injury and have been racing for five years now. I love racing in criteriums, but also really enjoy road races. When I'm not on my bike, I work as a Government Consultant.

Emily Joyner, Category 1 Road
I began cycling after college when I realized there were no mountains or rocks to climb in my new home, Virginia Beach. My competitive nature quickly led me to racing and I have been hooked ever since.  I enjoy crits, sprints, exploring in the mountains and gran fondos. When I am not on the bike I am playing with my three kids, teaching middle school PE, or helping with the youth group at my church.

Avanell Scales, category 2 road, 2 cyclocross

I'm 30 years old and was born and raised in Newport News, VA.  I started racing mountain bikes in 1998, travelling up and down the east coast with my sister, Beneline.  At Longwood University I spent my time as a D1 field hockey goalkeeper and a music major.  I started racing cross in 2008 and road in 2010.  Although cyclocross is my passion, nothing compares to racing with a great group of ladies and working to help them reach their goals!  When I'm not on my bike, I am spending time with my husband Chris and our basenji Zuma, playing piano, and managing BikeBeat bicycle shop in Williamsburg.

Mary Still, category 2 road

After completing my collegiate track and field career I didn’t have a clear idea of what to do next as there aren’t many recreational sprint and hurdle races. In 2011, I was introduced to road cycling as an alternative to running and quickly developed a love for the sport. Although I started racing in 2012, 2016 was my first full season;

I have a definite preference for criteriums and road races.
